The Long Glance

May/June 2011
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York

I stand and stare at the Jackson Pollock painting Convergence: Number 10, 1952 for forty hours. My performance takes the duration of one workweek, staged in the public galleries of the Albright-Knox for five, eight-hour days. An image of me, shown from behind, is pictured in real time via a live feed on the museum's website.
